Within the context of a clinically controlled study, patients diagnosed with periodontitis and gingival pockets more than a 5 mm/0.2 in depth were treated with the ozone generator “Ozonytron.” Testing criteria were the papilla bleeding index (PBI) and the measurement of the Sulcus Fluid Flow Rate (SFFR).
Two variables were used in the methodology: Variable application time in a different series of experiments with 10, 20, 30, 40 seconds of ozone application per pocket and with the intensity remaining constant at level 4. Variable current intensity and with a variable ozone concentration by using level 3 to level 5 while the application time remained constant at 40 seconds per pocket and per visit.
Results: Papilla bleeding index (PBI) with Ozonytron X treatment is significantly decreased.
Ozonytron X application decreases sulcus fluid flow rate (SFFR).
